Description

Combine the 7 lighting passes and multiple AOV passes from the Chrome Bug Master layer with your best technique to create a photorealistic comp of the Chrome Bug then color correct to taste. CGI EXR files were rendered by Mental Ray. The background plate was shot with a RED Epic at 5k resolution then resized to 2k dpx files for visual effects.

Chrome Bug Glow — 2048×1108 high dynamic range EXR files by Mental Ray with the glow pass.

Chrome Bug Masks — 2048×1108 high dynamic range EXR files by Mental Ray with an RGBA and depth pass. This depth pass is for the ground plane. NOTE: clamp the RGBA layer as it goes a bit over 1.0 and it shouldn’t.

Chrome Bug Shadow — 2048×1108 high dynamic range EXR files by Mental Ray with RGBA, AO (Ambient Occlusion) and Shadow passes. Use this Shadow pass for the bug’s ground shadow.

Chrome Bug BG thmb — 2048×1108 RED Epic dpx 10 bit log files. This is the live action plate used for the background for the Chrome Bug.
