Description

Create your own muzzle flashes and comp them into this action shot with two keying challenges – a beautifully shot RED greenscreen clip and a not so beautifully shot 35mm film bluescreen sandbag clip. Keying the fast-action maiden offers heavy motion blur challenges and keying the bullet impact smoke offers even more keying challenges. Critical issue is color correcting all layers to visually integrate.

Shooter thmb — 1920×1080 RED One footage dpx files shot at 4k resolution (3840×2160) then resized to HD 10 bit log dpx files for visual effects. This footage was cropped, synced and resized for this HD composite.

Sandbags — 2048×1556 35mm film at full aperture and digitized as 10 bit log dpx files. Key and comp the sandbags and smoke then color correct for best look.

Muzzel Flash 01 BG — 1920×1080 still frame from an HD video capture of a deserted soviet era building in East Germany. Color correct to integrate with the other layers.
